All these neighborhoods are 20 minutes or less by car from the venue: Decatur Square, Avondale Estates, East Atlanta Village, Oakhurst/Kirkwood, East Lake.

Flight
Hartsfield-Jackson
Atlanta's airport is big, efficient, and about a 25-minute cab ride from Downtown Decatur. It's easy to grab a Lyft or a rental car from the airport. Atlanta has a mass transit system, but it does not compare favorably to the transit systems in DC, NY, or Chicago. It's pretty easy to get around by Lyft. Carpool when you can. Consider renting a car.
