From running down the soccer field to walking down the aisle, this is how our story began. Started off as friends, not knowing what our future had in store, a friendship that blossomed into so much more. I guess it’s true what they say, true love is finding your soulmate in your best friend. As you may know, we grew up attending the same church, Our Lady of Guadalupe. For many years we played soccer with and against each another. As the years flew by and we got older, our friendship continued. Alberto joined the Army in 2014, while being stationed in Alaska we continued to stay in touch. Every time Alberto came home we made it a point to hangout, while of course catching up over our favorite blizzards from Dairy Queen. From friendship, to a relationship, and now to marriage, we never imagined the two of us planning to spend the rest of our lives together. We are truly blessed and excited for what’s to come.

Settling into our new home, we decided to throw a Halloween/ Housewarming party including our close friends and family. Not knowing this was the day Alberto was about to ask the big question. Alberto suggested we dress up as Princess Peach and Mario, I insisted we dress as sumo wrestlers, he was not having it. As everyone began to arrive Alberto came to me asking if I’d gather everyone to go down stairs for a group photo. I was busy at the time showing others the house, but he insisted I gather everyone that was upstairs to head downstairs. Once I made my way down Alberto decided, let’s do a speech or a thank you to everyone that have been in our lives during our many milestones. Before he began to speak my best friend Kameron came walking through the door. I was in shock and couldn't believe she was there. Kameron has been my best friend since middle school, she now lives in Alabama, but somehow Alberto managed to have her there for the big moment. While in shock and ready to party, I began to think oh my goodness, he’s so extra with this speech but also so cute and kind. I asked out loud, “Is he going to propose?!” Alberto looked at me laughing, while everyone including me became anxious. Alberto continued to thank everyone and then stated “And yes she is right, I am going to propose.” He then dropped to his knee and asked “Will you marry me?” Everyone screamed/shouted and I gladly said “Yes!” I was in such awe, like what a surreal moment.
