We met at a Phi Rho and BYX mixer (thanks to the A+ event planning skills of Anna and Tommy). Mayme pointed Adam out to Sydney right after he walked in, but she had already noticed him. Sydney kicked Adam's butt at spoons, and she spent the night sneakily making eye contact with him as much as possible. After that night, Sydney called dibs in her Phi Rho groupchat, and Adam stalked her on twitter until he decided to shoot his shot and send her a DM.

After a couple days of messaging, we had our first date at Piada on State Street. We both ordered very messy food (whoops). We proceeded to hang out multiple times that week, discovered we were already on the same wavelength after crushing a game of codenames with Sydney's roommates, and Sydney asked Adam to her barn dance.

Sydney finally mustered up the courage to ask Adam if they were boyfriend and girlfriend, and the rest is history! 1.5 years together in college, a few years in Ohio (gross), and a couple years back in Michigan.

After 6.5 years of dating and 5 years of long to medium distance, Adam proposed at the end of the dock at the Kleber cottage on Mullett Lake! It took months of planning and plotting with Sydney's sisters and parents, and Sydney was very surprised and VERY excited. Fun fact, Sydney's parents got engaged up north at the same lake 30 years earlier, so that made it extra special.
