Question

Is Mexico Safe? (Travel and Mexico Update 2/26/26)

Answer

YES!! Following events on February 22, 2026, we have been in constant prayer and communication with planners, vendors, hotels, and family on next steps. And we are happy to say that we are keeping our wedding date! OFFICIAL REPORT - According to U.S. and Mexico Embassy (2/25): "Public transportation and businesses continue to return to normal operations..." and "U.S. citizens in Mexico should resume standard levels of precaution." Also, Please at this time be cautious of out-of-context footage that may create misleading narratives. Lastly, please check your own travel airlines to check for updates.

Question

What airport do we fly into?

Answer

The nearest airport is the Puerto Vallarta (PV) International Airport! A flight from Los Angeles in no longer than 3 hours and most commercial airlines fly directly to PV. The airport is 30-45 minutes away from Sayulita via Taxi!

Question

Will I need cash?

Answer

Most restaurants and shops accept credit cards (mainly VISA). There are no banks in Sayulita so please take the amount of cash that you need. There were a few cash exchange locations to get pesos once you arrive. The cash we took was primarily for souvenirs, street food, and taxis. A taxi should be about $50 ($1000-$1500 pesos each way to the airport - price for 2).

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Answer

We did not block out rooms, so feel free to book a room where you feel most comfortable. We didn’t want to pin people down to a certain cost, there are so many options in Sayulita with different price levels.

Question

When should we get there?

Answer

We will be in Sayulita between Tuesday, March 10 through Sunday, March 15. We understand taking time off is hard so please arrive and depart whenever you would like. Most people are arriving the day before and leaving on Saturday.

Question

Is the ceremony outside?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at Don Pedro’s Palapa. The ceremony is fully outdoors and the reception will be partially covered.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

No parking is available at the Palapa. We encourage you to take a quick taxi from the central plaza. It’s also a very walkable community.

Question

Best way to get to travel around and to get to the venue?

Answer

If you are staying outside of Sayulita we recommend a Taxi! Most places outside of the city are about 30 minutes away. If you are staying in the town of Sayulita (which we recommend) the venue is walking distance from many of the main hotels and Airbnbs.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, we are happy to accommodate most food allergies and dietary restrictions! Please ensure you let us know in advance when you RSVP.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes, we will have an open bar for all of our guests to enjoy complimentary drinks throughout the event. You already know how we roll! The venue also allows for guests to bring any "specialty" drinks or bottles if you would like to!
