After acquiring my number from, with my mother's permission, my dental hygenist.(Thank you JoLynda!) And after much persuasion from his best friend, Evan, Nick finally called me. It may have been 9 p.m., but he still called me. And to his surprise, I answered his phone call. I may have been madder than a wet hornet, because who calls someone that late at night. Unless you're looking to extend your car's warranty that is. From that moment on we have been madly in love with each other.
On the day of the proposal, I had to work. Now I had told Nick this information many times leading up to this day that I was working and was on call for work as well. After work, I was supposed to meet up with Nick's sister and sister-in-law's to go get my nails done. Something that I do not do very often. Well, closing time rolls around and I am still at work. I talk with the girls and they can push our appointment back so I can still join them. I ask Nick if we can go to this winery I like to eat supper, he says no and comes up with what I thought at the time to be some lame excuse to get out of going up there and suggest we go somewhere closer to his parent's lake house and stop on the way back and say hi to everyone. I begrudgingly accept. Fast forward to later that night, we make it up to the lake house and Nick starts acting weird. I go into the house to use the bathroom and he meets me outside the door to walk me outside. Super weird for him to be nice like that. (I still love him though!) I notice some very familiar faces, as in the faces of my parents and sisters. As soon as I see them Nick falls to one knee and asks me to marry him in front of everyone! And of course, I said yes!
