Yes! Immigration rules meant that we had to get legally married within 90 days of Alanna's arrival in the United States. Pastor Karen of the Second Congregational Church in Cohasset helped make that ceremony very meaningful for us, but we knew that this event was always going to be our wedding. We can't wait to make our vows, exchange rings, and celebrate with all of you!
The vibe for our Wedding Day is "cocktail/semi-formal dinner party." With that in mind, the most important thing is that our guests feel fabulous -- whatever that means for you. Alanna will be in a dreamy wedding gown & Mary Anne will be in a custom blue suit. The cocktail area, wedding, and vows exchange will take place outside, on a grassy surface with exposed rock - block heels and winter layers are advised!
July 15th is mid-winter in Australia. It can get quite cold in Oberon - July brings the possibility of light snow. Daytime temperatures range from 40-70 fahrenheit (5-20 celcius) depending on sun, but drop to freezing in the evening. So pack those wool and cashmere sweaters, scarves, and gloves!
Oberon is approximately 3 hours drive west of Sydney. A reminder to our American friends: in Australia, we drive on the left! For any international guests that do not feel comfortable driving, we will make our best efforts to connect you with a local to carpool.
We have reserved accommodation at the only three hotels in town. There are a limited number of Air Bnb's in the area, which would need to be reserved ASAP as mid-July is peak season due to the possibility of snow. A reminder that the bus to and from the Kellam Family Farm will be picking up and dropping off from the 3 reserved accommodations.
For anyone not needing to rush off, join us for Sunday brunch at the Kellam Family Farm from 10am. For those wanting to explore the area before heading back, the Jenolan Caves and Mayfield Gardens are both within easy reach. https://www.jenolancaves.org.au/ https://mayfieldgarden.com.au/
