Well, it's September so it will really depend on the weather, but aim for casual fancy, and wear your dancing shoes. Avoid pointy heels if you don't like sinking into the ground. We will plan on having blankets, ponchos, and umbrellas in case of rain or cold.
If you are planning on staying in a hotel, We would recommend staying in downtown Sioux Falls. The Hilton Garden Inn or The Holiday Inn.
Lex's best idea is to go to the science museum at the Pavilion. It's located in downtown Sioux Falls and has anything from digging up dinosaur bones, to making a tornado. There is also a butterfly house at Sertoma Park, and Falls Park where you can get ice cream. You are also welcome to come out to the land and take a walk out there. It's beautiful. Lex spent a lot of her childhood exploring out there.
As far as we know the answer to this is no. We would highly recommend camping, or finding a sober driver if you plan on having a REALLY good time.
Brandon is 15 minutes east of Sioux Falls. So the most important thing is to not stay on the west side of town, otherwise you are looking at at least a 45 minute drive to The Land. Feel free to email or call us if you want more detailed information about a specific neighborhood or anything like that.
The only thing we ask is for you to be respectful. Please follow the paths, leave any wildlife alone, don't litter, and if you are camping, please use the bathrooms provided.
