Dianna and AL first met in Bentonville, Arkansas at the Bentonville Taco and Tamale Co on the Bentonville Square. Dianna had moved to Bentonville and was living at the Point and Al, who was a Widower was living in Lincoln, Arkansas in the home he and his late wife, Julie, had lived in for decades. Dianna sat waiting beautifully in the first seat waiting for Al, Al having not been on a real date for over 30 years nearly chickened out! Al walked into the restaurant and immediately saw her striking red hair and beautiful face sitting at the first booth facing him. They sat and talked, and ordered, Al mimicked exactly what she ordered. A few years later he would confess that he did so to have the same breath as hers, should she decide to kiss him. Sharing his life, his relationship with Julie and his kids, grandkids .. the military, nursing, engineering, law enforcement and other jobs and loves while she shared her military, love of animial rescue, her son's life and talked about why she started over as they finished eating. Dianna looked at Al and told him " I really do not want this date to end! How about a movie, "MY Treat." Al thought that was an awesome idea and said "SURE". They walked across the street and sat on a bench in the square and talked while Dianna looked for a movie. DI looked and found the movie she thought Al wanted to see the most: Oppenheimer not knowing that its run time with previews was over 3 and a half hours. She drove him to the movies, leaving his car on the square and went in to watch their first movie together. Reaching for his hand, he was thrilled and as hard as he tried; having worked the night before at the prison for 13 hours, the movie was more than he could take and he fell asleep on her shoulder for a short time. The movie ended and they drove back to the square. Waltons 5 & Dime had an ice cream truck setup, so they decided they wanted to get cones, so Al bought them cones and they went to sit on what is now "Their bench" near the fountain on the square. They continued to talk throughout the night, getting closer and closer to one another both physically and emotionally. Looking East they realized the sun had come up; that it was already morning and that they had spent the night just "talking" to one another about their lives. It was time to call it. Al had now been out and about for over 26 hours, needing to get home. They walked each other to their cars and as AL got in to his car, Dianna looked at him and said "WE ARE GOING TO BE ON FOR TONIGHT RIGHT! You're coming to MY PLACE!" Al said "ABSOLUTELY!" And the story began, that night they met and went to eat, came back and talked most of the night away. It has now been two and a half years; two lonely hearts found one another and found a new path.
Al & Dianna matched on Bumble. AL was the first and the LAST man she would meet on Bumble. Al found Bumble from an argument with his late wife, Julie, who wanted him to move forward. The only major argument they had she created and wrote his profile. Dianna would be the second person he met, the first still a friend would end up being a friend of Dianna's Son Danny. They spoke for a few days before deciding to meet for their first date in Bentonville.
