We met on a dating app called Bumble in December of 2018, and after texting almost constantly for over a week, we agreed to go on a date. We wanted it to be an activity instead of coffee or a meal, and Alan suggested ice skating since it was winter and we could easily talk while skating. Our first date took place on December 21st at the Barrington Arboretum's outdoor ice skating rink. Alan sweetly offered to pay once we got there, and we skated for as long as we were physically able, given how cold it was and how tired we got from all of the exercise. An L.L. Bean was next door to the rink, and since we didn't want the date to end, we decided to walk around inside to get out of the cold and keep the conversation flowing. We were in there so long that an employee joked about how many laps we made around the store! We went on a few more dates between then and January 5th of 2019, and in the early morning hours of January 6th, Alan asked Stephanie if they wanted to be his girlfriend. I think we all know what the answer was! The rest is history. Here we are over seven years later, having gone through happy occasions like college graduations, hard times like the pandemic, and everything in between. We are looking forward to the many memories we will continue to make and the milestones we will go through together for the rest of our lives. Thank you for being part of our story and for supporting us, and we are excited to celebrate our love together in May.
