What should I pack to prepare for Deer Creek Mountain Camp?

Answer

COMFORTABLE SHOES: Ladies, listen. The venue at DCMC is outdoors with grated steps. You're going to want to wear a chunky heal, cowboy boots or flats to avoid sinking into the grass and/or getting stuck in the stairs :) PACK & PLAYS: Please plan to bring your own if staying on-site with infants or small children as the venue does not provide these.

What should I pack to be prepared for CO weather?

Answer

SUNSCREEN, HAT & SUNGLASSES: UV radiation is 10–12% stronger for every 3,000 feet gained. Prepare for the sun. LAYERS: Even if the air is sunny, temperatures can change rapidly! Pack for a sunny summer day, but bring your sweat pants, wind breakers and a beanie just in case! CHAPSTICK: you're going to notice your lips like never before - best to bring multiple!

How can I feel my best while traveling and staying at elevation?

ASCEND SLOWLY: If possible, stay at lower elevation (5,000 - 6,000 ft) before traveling to elevations of 9,000 ft or higher STAY HYDRATED: Drink plenty of water! LIMIT CAFFEINE/ALCOHOL: be mindful if you drink caffeine or alcohol, as these can dehydrate you
