Alan and Lauren met the modern way, on Bumble, in Denver, in the fall of 2023. Alan, originally from the greater Cincinnati area, and Lauren, from the greater Chicago area, matched, met up, and quickly realized they enjoyed each other’s company. Their first date was on a Monday, bold choice for Lauren being a teacher, and involved tacos and drinks, which turned into an easy decision to keep talking over cocktails next door. What started as a simple night out became the beginning of something exciting, and from there, the dates kept coming and the connection kept growing. Before long, they were traveling together, from Germany to Florida to Arizona, and all over Colorado for camping, backpacking, and ski trips. When they’re closer to home, they love exploring new neighborhoods in Denver and any mountain town they can find, tracking down great restaurants and coffee shops, and filling their calendar with concerts and a countless number of stand-up comedy shows. Alan loves the warmth and softness Lauren brings into his life and the way she makes everything feel a little more grounded. She laughs at his jokes (mostly), listens with care, and has a way of making even the ordinary moments feel special. Lauren loves Alan’s humor, curiosity, and the joy he brings to everyday life, even game nights, which he never expected to enjoy but always does with her. In September 2025, they moved into their first apartment together and truly made Denver home. Now, they’re looking forward to a life filled with adventure, good food, mountain air, shared laughter, and whatever comes next - together.
