Question

Should I exchange dollars into pesos before the trip?

Answer

It is very convenient to exchange money in Loreto. Also, the Hotel La Mision and most of the restaurants accept credit cards. You can also use the ATM to withdraw pesos. Some of the smaller shops and the vendors in the town square only accept pesos. If you are planning on shopping, it will be a good idea to exchange money OR use the ATM to withdraw.

Question

Will I need to rent a car?

Answer

Everything within the town is walking distance. You will not need a car to get around. If you are interested in exploring outside of the town on your own, renting a car could be something to think about. There are also taxis.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

Beautiful! It will be high 80's to 90's during the day and in the 70's at night. You will likely not need more than a light jacket.

Question

Can I drink the water?

Answer

No. We always go to the store and buy a few gallons for the trip. Do not drink the water.

Question

What is the food like?

Answer

Amazing! There are wonderful restaurants that we go to every time we are there. There is a lot of traditional Mexican fare as well as fresh seafood. We haven't had a bad meal yet.

Question

What if I forget something?

Answer

There are multiple grocery stores, pharmacies and shops for you to replenish any supplies you may have forgotten.

Question

What is the town like?

Answer

Quiet and quaint:). There is a lot of history there. The people are warm and welcoming. It is a friendly town. Ladies, heels for the daily is not the way to go (the streets are cobblestone). However, strap them on for the ceremony!

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

The Hotel La Mision is where the ceremony and reception will be held. Many of the guests will stay here (this is where we will be staying). It is a beautiful resort with a spa, restaurant, pool, bar etc. And across the street is the ocean. They will provide us with a discount code so you ban book online. However, you can call Filiberto at 1 (844) 228 9508 and book with him directly. When you call, let him know that the reservation is for Kelly and Alan's wedding 2024. He will take it from there:). Here is the link https://www.lamisionloreto.com/ Some other places are: Posada Del Cortes https://www.posadadelcortes.com/ Villas de Santo Nino https://www.villasdelsantonino.com/ Both of these hotels are walking distance to the resort. We have also used AirBnb and stayed at Loreto 80. These are very comfortable studio accommodations, that have a full kitchen. It is about 3/4 of a mile to the resort.

Question

Why are we asking for you to wear blue?

Answer

It would be awesome if everyone wore their favorite shade of blue (patterns are ok too!). AND we want everyone to be comfortable and feel amazing, so if blue is not your thing, that's OK! Come wearing your favorite color and looking fabulous!

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

If you are wondering what to wear, cocktail attire should fit the bill. We want you to be comfortable so remember that it will be in the 80's:).
