Question

Answer

Since the ceremony starts at 2pm EST please arrive around 1:30pm EST

Question

What time should I arrive at the reception?

Answer

Please arrive around 5:30-6:00pm CST or 6:30-7:00pm EST. Our reception is CST while Chattanooga where our wedding ceremony is EST. It is an hour drive from the basilica to the reception. Please leave the church by 3:30-4pm EST at the latest to make it on time.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

At the basilica there is parking to the left and to the right of the church. You can park at either for free. Parking across the street from the church is paid parking so avoid parking there. There should be plenty of room in the parking on either side of the church. At our house there will be parking in the driveway and grass, we can help direct parking once you get to our house.

Question

Where is the reception, and how far is it from the church?

Answer

The reception will be at our house. The address for it is located in the schedule part of the website. Our house is about an hour drive from the church, please keep that in mind when you plan your visit if you will need a rental car. However we will try to do carpooling if you do not have a rental car. Also PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: Chattanooga Tennessee and Gaylesville Alabama there is a 1hr time zone change. Tennessee is EST and Alabama is CT. Our reception is 5:30 CST! NOT EST

Question

I’m not catholic what can I expect?

Answer

Our wedding is a nuptial Catholic mass. This means that it will be a catholic ceremony with holy communion. We ask that you please help us maintain a reverent atmosphere by keeping conversation and phones to a minimum within the church. Participation in Holy Communion is reserved for Catholics in a state of grace. Please do NOT recieve communion if you’re not Catholic or are Catholic and not in a state of grace. This is not to discriminate please read the attached link below as to why :) https://www.catholic.com/qa/why-cant-non-catholics-receive-communion-0
