It all started on July 5, 2015. Legend and I met at a graduation party that my family almost skipped. I remember saying, “Why don’t we just go?” Little did I know… We were both 16 at the time. I had just gotten my wisdom teeth removed, so my cheeks were extra puffy, but somehow, that didn’t scare him away. He showed up with some friends I knew, which made it easy to start talking. We bonded over school, sports, and shared slices of watermelon. By the end of the night, Legend asked for my number, and that was the beginning of us. Since that day, we’ve grown not just older, but closer. Every year together has only gotten sweeter. Looking back, I’m so grateful we decided to go to that party. July 5, 2015, will always be the day everything began.
