I met Alana freshman year in college and was amazed at her zeal for God and life. We lived with the same host family in Mexico during different years and it always felt like a special bond as we both love Mexico— the people, language, food, music and traditions. Since college we have gone on many adventures together from salsa dancing in Chicago, snow showing in Colorado to hip hop performances in San Francisco. But my favorite part of our friendship is sharing together about what God is doing— encouraging one another, listening, challenging and caring for one another. It is such a gift to have her dear friendship in my life. When I met Joshua, I felt his calm and gentle spirit. He was willing to go with the flow with our crazy plans and showed deep care and love for Alana. May your marriage be a culmination of adventure, life, community, and care alongside the still moments with God and each other. May you listen to God and deeply care for one another all the days of your lives. We love you both and are by your side always!

- My name is Cassy to most, but Alana insists on using my official birth certificate name: Castan! -I first met Alana in 2014 when the Lord brought her to Orange Cove High School. She quickly became one of my closest friends as we grew together as sisters in Christ, trusting that God had a purpose and plan not just for our lives, but also for Orange Cove, where we serve. -Over the past 10 years, we've walked through so much together, and my heart is filled with joy as I celebrate her kingdom marriage to Joshua. *"Put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony"* (Colossians 3:14), and let it guide you both as you declare God's truth to those around you! -May the Lord use you both to bring revival to our nation and proclaim that God is Lord over all.

To introduce myself, I’m Emily, and I live in Northern California with my husband and our three ice skating, lego-building, mountain-trekking kids (each of whom also consider the bride to be one of their best friends :). Alana and I became close when we studied in Mexico together for a semester in college. We adventured, danced (muchisisisimo), and learned how to learn- all while taking one thousand selfies! That semester was the foundation for a friendship that has stood the test of time- from living extremely long distances apart, to gallivanting on the Great Wall of China, to deeply mourning and joyfully celebrating together…all to say, Alana means so much to me and I am so honored to be supporting her as she steps into this commitment with Joshua. May their marriage hold unswervingly to the hope that they profess, for He who promised is faithful! (Hebrews 10:23)

Aloha from Hawaii! - My name is Kristin - I practice medicine and am a wife and mother of my one year old son Nolan- and I am one of Alana’s college besties! - Alana and I have been friends for 18 1/2 years — that’s half our lives precisely -we met each other living in the same dormitory floor in college- “3B!” It was the floor filled with extroverts. Amongst other things Alana and I bonded over being studious in the library and going to different church services! -Our friendship has taken us everywhere! From games shows, to dances, to final exams, to backpacking, being bridesmaids together, snowshoeing, traveling states from hawaii to Colorado and countries from Mexico to Greece- Alana and I have walked heart to heart through all seasons of adulthood and life together so far. Even when we couldn’t be in person our hearts have remained connected through joys and sorrow- But mostly joys because that is what Alana brings! -Now I’m excited we get to walk together sharing our lives as wives and mothers (to be) and I cannot wait to support Alana and Joshua in their nuptials and covenant. This is going to be epic! - My hope for their marriage is that it is filled with indescribable peace, joy, unity, faith, strength; and excitement; That they get to build a legacy of love in words, feeling, and action with eachother and their future children, and that it will pour out into those around them.

Hi, I’m Linnea one of Alana’s college besties! I’m from the country of Jordan, my husband and I are both in medicine and we have three precious children. I met Alana at the start of college, and it didn’t take long to realize we were kindred spirits—bonded by our shared love of Jesus, adventure, and exploring different cultures. One of our first hangouts involved us spontaneously buying artichokes and attempting to cook them (with no prior experience) in a subpar freshman dorm kitchen. This, I would soon learn, was only the beginning of a lifelong friendship full of spontaneity, laughter, and venturing into the unknown. Alana is the definition of dynamic—she brings energy, joy, and excitement to every room she walks into. She’s also one of the most hardworking people I know, never shying away from a challenge, whether it’s navigating a foreign country, helping a student achieve personal or academic dreams, or making a new friend. She is the human version of a confidence boost, drawing people out of their shells and helping them lean into their dreams and God given gifts. Alana, you are an absolute force of nature! Praying your marriage will be filled with joy, adventure, and probably some spontaneous travel plans that involve little to no prior research- we all love your get up and go attitude towards life! Excited about you and Joshua’s adventure ahead!

Hi, I'm Jamie! Alana and I bonded over liking pure TV shows on my first day in Torreon, Mexico in 2011. It was at that point I thought she may be a Christian but she wore a tube top so I wasn't sure...LOL! Little did I know, God had a beautiful gift of friendship in store for both of us. My hope for Alana and Joshua’s marriage is that they always seek the Father's heart—both for themselves and for each other—as they continue to grow in love, trust, babies and purpose together.

Hola! Megan Simila, here. I've known Alana since 2010 where we met as teachers at Colegio Americano de Torreon. Alana was very peppy and awake when we clocked in on the first day at school, and I was not convinced we would be friends because my morning brain was a little overwhelmed. However, I eventually woke up and we both quickly learned that we needed a wing woman if we were going to survive and thrive in Mexico. Through three years of working, ministering, and rooming together our relationship became more like a sisterhood. Over the last ten plus years of friendship, I have appreciated Alana's intentionality and that she loves with her whole heart. She's not afraid of the hard or challenging work, and brings others alongside her in the growing process. She's one of my favorite humans and I'm so excited for this next chapter of life! My hope for Alana and Joshua in this new season is that they would rest in the loveliness of the Lord as he smiles down on them (Ps 90).

My name is Janet Mendoza, and my relationship with Alana aka Mama A is very close. She is my spiritual mom. We got introduced to each other when I started my freshman year in high school and have grown closer every day since. My biggest hope for the soon-to-be Caters is that they live their life to the fullest while being one with the lord.

I am Jesus-loving, joy-choosing, and forever-laughing. An unrepentant smiler with a no-microphone needed voice and the earnest hope to attain a servant heart. I hold the esteemed title of “Alana’s first friend in Orange Cove”. We met as spectators in the gym at Orange Cove High School and soon she was teaching across from me. In real life, I know her as one of my dearest sisters in Christ, an uplifter of spirits, and someone who I am so grateful to “do life with”. It is one of the greatest joys in my life to be her friend. I am so very excited for what Alana and Joshua will do for the Kingdom! I have lovely, simple hopes for them like that their days are filled with laughter. My greater hope for the Carter marriage is that they not only share a 1st Corinthians 13 love, but they support each other in extending that love for others. And that, above all, their union is a blessing for themselves and others.

Hey I’m Jahnaya! I have known Alana, or as I like to call her…Sprinkles, for about 6 years now. She has become a spiritual mama and trusted friend. She has truly become the sprinkles of my life, fun, exciting, an added bonus from God and full of beauty! I pray that what I’ve experienced in my friendship with Alana is just the starting point of what Alana and Joshua get to experience together in their union. The sprinkles of Jesus!! I’m excited for the both of them and look forward to having now a Papa Sprinkles!! Love you both with my whole heart!!

I know Alana through her mother, Ataloa, who is my spiritual mom. The two of us became roommates but because of the spiritual lineage, she feels like family to me! With the timing, I had the joy of watching Joshua & Alana’s relationship unfold while living with her and am amazed at what God is doing in their lives. My hope for this beautiful couple is that they will become everything God envisions, choosing Jesus and each other every day. I can’t wait to see what the Lord will do through their constant “yes”.
