In the summer of 2016, we met each other as chaperones of our church's kids camp. We bonded over an 8-count nugget meal from Chick-Fil-A and then exchanged numbers. Well, the camp ended and we never stopped texting! After some time went by we decided to give long distance a go. I (Alana) lived in Alabama, and I (Ben) lived in Virginia. Over the next two and a half years we dated and enjoyed every second of it. It was tough, but worth it, and now we are getting married!
After thinking, scheming, and planning I, along with the help of Alana's friend, Antinia, popped the question at the Cooper Riverside Park in Mobile, AL. I think that Alana probably saw It coming, but the day was still filled with excitement and joy about the future. Before getting down on one knee, Alana and I looked through printed out pictures of important dates throughout our relationship. Each picture had a date written on the back. We we got to December 17th, 2018, the picture was blank. I said "guess we have to do something picture worthy." Then boom. Got the Job done. Special thanks to Antinia Jeter for helping plan the day with me, as well as Micah Steadham and Victoria Gatlin for taking pictures.
