Italy has always held a special place in our hearts - from sharing incredible vacation memories, Alana cooking Alex authentic Italian meals, a mutual love of Andrea Bocelli, and Alex quickly coining the phrase "my little prosciutto" to describe Alana. When it came time to plan the wedding, Alana was thrilled that Alex wanted to consider Sicily, where Alana's grandparents, Giovanni & Concettina Sciuto hail from. Alana cherishes her father's stories of growing up in Little Italy in Brooklyn, NY, helping his parents run their Sicilian fruit & vegetable market, and learning his mothers recipes as he did his homework in the kitchen while she cooked...a family tradition he continued with Alana and her brothers. While growing up in Germany, Alana and her family were fortunate enough to be able to travel all over Italy often, including Sicily, where her love for her roots grew even stronger. When touring wedding venues there, Alex and Alana were quickly drawn to this particular area of Sicily, not far from where Alana's grandmother was born. We're excited to share this special place with you, our most beloved friends and family! We can't wait to show you how beautiful this region and the culture are, and we know you will fall in love with it just as we have.
