Alain and Ashley's story began in the summer of 2019. Meeting on a dating app, they spent the first few weeks, talking on the phone and texting. After connecting over their love/hatred of US politics, and passion for baseball, they decided to meet in person at Alain's townhouse. Knowing his townhouse complex was challenging to navigate, Alain asked Ashley to meet him at the bank right at the corner of his townhouse complex. In typical Ashley fashion, she didn't listen. Instead, Ashley got lost, and ended up standing beside a dumpster in the rain. Alain, chalking it up to innocent miscommunication, rolled with it. Little did he know that at that dumpster, he would meet the absolute love of his life (Ashley, not the dumpster). Fast forward to September 11, 2019, the two found themselves sitting behind home plate at a Toronto Blue Jays game. While Ashley was practically in heaven over the unlimited popcorn, Alain couldn’t help but admire how close they were to the players. His excitement, however, wasn’t just about the game—it was about how he was realizing that he and Ashley had this amazing connection. That was the day they first said "I love you". Over the course of their relationship, Ashley came to love Alain's kindness, his humour and the hidden sassiness he only revealed once she really got to know him. It was a side of him that made her laugh, kept her on her toes, and kept her absolutely captivated. She also loved that Alain was always up for a good challenge, especially when it came to their banter. To this day, they still banter about his obsession over Lord of the Rings...his first true love. As for Alain, he loved everything about Ashley. How could he not? Not only was it her loving and supportive nature, or the way she always takes care of the people in her life, but it was her unapologetic personality, her sassiness and quick wit, her ability to make even the most mundane feel exciting, and how just her presence made everything brighter. Over the years, their love and admiration for one another has only gotten stronger and has led to their wedding, which they are excited to share with you all. P.S.
