Like most love stories begin, Alaina and I first met freshman year of college at a bar. More specifically, the O Patio bar on the campus of Ohio State. We were introduced by a mutual friend, Nicole Joseph. Alaina and I both went to OU and had never met, so the introduction was easy given the college connection. Alaina claims she doesn’t remember meeting me, but nonetheless, I remember meeting her. I’m sure my smooth questions of where do you live at OU and what are you studying were extremely memorable. Fast forward to our time at OU, Alaina and I had mutual classes together and would be friendly with one another when we saw each other out at the bars in Athens. We both did our own thing and ran in separate groups, but I always knew there was something there. I really knew there was something there when she was getting very flirty with me at Jbar on a Tuesday night. She must have really been drawn to my Jordan shoes and the XXL oversized shirt I was wearing, about as slick of a look as you can get. As much as I thought I had her on the hooks, I couldn’t reel her in to go on a date with me. We went our separate ways after college where she moved to Cincinnati, while I moved up to Michigan. After a 2-year stint, I moved back to Columbus and was covering Cincinnati as a part of my territory for work. Perfect excuse to let her know, “Hey I’m in town for a couple nights if you want to grab a drink." Alaina just so happened to be on the market at that time, and after many excuses as to why she couldn’t go out with me, I finally got her to agree to a date. We hit it off and the rest is history. We now live happily in Columbus in a house that we’re still renovating with our best friend, Larry. We are beyond excited to share this special day with all our closest friends and family. Cheers!
