We unofficially met for the first time while working at Universal Studios waiting for our shuttle. Alissa was in training at the time, and Isa approached her briefly where an awkward conversation regarding their costume ensued. Afterwards, we didn't see each other until we were officially introduced by our coworker when Alissa arrived at the store. It was awkward and quiet at first between us, but after talking through the misunderstanding that had us laughing, we warmed to each other and quickly became best friends!
Isa and Alissa were planning to go to Magic Kingdom where Isa was going to surprise Alissa with concert tickets and say "I Love You" for the first time so Isa asked her where her favorite spot in Magic Kingdom was. Alissa described it to her as "the gardens to the left of the Castle." When the day arrived, Isa pulled Alissa to the side by the gardens to the left of the Castle in front of a popcorn stand and surprised her with the tickets and saying "I Love You." Alissa was excited and surprised before asking why Isa chose this spot. That is when Isa realized that Alissa meant the wishing well to the left of the Castle when you are walking behind it. They both laughed at it and the spot still worked because Alissa also loves fresh Disney popcorn!
I knew that I wanted to propose to Isa somewhere at Disney but specifically not in front of the Castle. So, I decided on the mosaics at Disney's Riviera Resort because it featured both a Tangled and Peter Pan mosaic which are two of our favorite Disney movies. The only issue was getting a dining reservation at the restaurant before the proposal, Topolino's Terrace. I had been trying for weeks and had even enlisted the help of one of my managers to see if they knew anyone that could assist me with getting a dining reservation. I was finally able to get one myself while randomly checking and enlisted the help of two of our friends to disguise the true reason for the dinner. Once dinner was over and we had walked to the mosaic, I proposed and asked Isa to marry me in Spanish. She said yes, obviously.
Having to make up for mixing up Alissa's favorite spot at Magic Kingdom when saying I love you for the first time, I knew that I was going to get it right this time by proposing in front of the wishing well next to the Castle. I wanted to make the occasion extra special and invited Alissa's closest friends to surprise her. Once at the park, the plan was to walk up towards the wishing well and propose while everyone hid nearby, but a large family was spread out around the wishing well taking up all the space! We had to keep walking forward while I frantically tried to text our friends to hide so she wouldn't spot them. Somehow, they managed to avoid detection, one of our friends explained to the family that we were trying to propose, and we circled back to the location for the proposal - where she said yes despite not actually hearing what I had said because she was so distracted by what was going on... As for our friends, they were luckily still able to find great spots in the chaos around the area to record the proposal and Alissa was pleasantly surprised when everyone kept popping up around us afterwards!
