FAQs

The Wedding Website of Akuma Akuma-Ukpo and Jaqi Sabb
Traditional attire: Colorful Ceremony/Reception attire: Classic - Black/Dark grey only (The ceremony will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and modest attire is strongly encouraged)
Question

I don’t have traditional attire for the traditional wedding. What should I wear, and where can I get it?

Answer

No worries at all! We’d love for you to join in the celebration by wearing traditional African attire, but it's completely okay if you don't already have some. You can explore local African clothing boutiques in your area or shop online at retailers like D'Iyanu, Tan & Tobe, or Etsy. Just be sure to check size guides and measurements before ordering. If you need help or suggestions, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to assist! (Link: https://www.diyanu.com/)

Question

What is the color code for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception?

Answer

Guests are kindly asked to wear all black or dark grey. Feel free to mix and match the two shades to create a stylish and elegant look that fits your vibe!

Question

I don’t have transportation to the wedding ceremony or reception. What are my options?

Answer

No problem at all! You can check out the Travel tab on our website for car rental options—we recommend Enterprise Rent-A-Car. If you’ll need a ride, just let us know in your RSVP. We’ll do our best to arrange transportation based on guest needs.

Question

Will you be accepting physical gifts?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests use our registry to send gifts directly to us. Physical gifts are not recommended (unless small in size), as transporting and storing them can be a bit tricky. Thank you for understanding and for your thoughtfulness!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately we are only able to accommodate adults at our ceremony/reception.

Question

What time should I arrive at the traditional wedding, ceremony (mass) and reception?

Answer

Traditional Wedding: Ceremony (mass): Reception: Our wedding falls over peak fall foliage dates in Shenandoah National Park. As Front Royal is the north entrance station to the park, Front Royal sees thousands of tourists and a lot of traffic this time of year and drive times could be longer. If you plan on driving, please allow 20-30 minutes of extra travel time. If you have a confirmed seat on the shuttle to the venue, please make sure to board on time to be considerate of other guests.

Question

RSVP by when?

Answer

Please RSVP by June 30th, 2025.

For all the days along the way
