Ritual

11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Traditional

Pooja (Prayer Ceremony): The Pooja is an important ritual in many weddings, where the couple seeks blessings from the divine for a prosperous and happy married life. It typically involves the chanting of sacred mantras, offering prayers, and lighting a holy fire (Havan) in the presence of close family members. The Pooja is a way to invoke blessings and ensure that the couple’s union is sacred and blessed by the divine. Fera (Seven Circles/Seven Vows): The Fera is one of the most significant rituals in a traditional wedding. The couple walks around the sacred fire seven times, with each circle symbolizing a vow they take together, pledging love, respect, loyalty, and support for each other. Each round of the Fera represents a promise for their future—whether it’s to nourish their relationship, protect each other, or share happiness and hardship. This ritual is a powerful affirmation of the couple’s commitment to each other for life.

Reception - Wedding

6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Baarat: A grand and traditional highlight of the wedding day, the groom's arrival on a horse is a symbol of royalty, honor, and the beginning of his new journey. Accompanied by music, dancing, and joyous celebrations from his family and friends, the groom arrives at the wedding venue with much fanfare. This procession, known as the "Baraat," signifies the groom’s readiness to take on the responsibilities of marriage and marks the start of the wedding ceremony. Mangalaashtak: is a traditional prayer ceremony in many Indian weddings, especially in Hindu customs, that takes place during the wedding rituals. The term "Mangalaashtak" means "eight auspicious verses" ("Mangala" meaning auspicious, and "Ashtak" meaning eight). These eight verses are recited to invoke blessings for the couple’s married life.
