Hot August Nights
The 2026 Hot August Nights (40th Anniversary) runs from July 31 to August 9, featuring classic car shows, cruises, and concerts in Reno and Sparks. The event officially kicks off in Virginia City on July 31 – August 1, with main events, drag races, and big-name entertainment dominating the following week, including the 2026 Main Event.
Virginia City
Virginia City, Nevada, is a historic Old West mining town famous for the 1859 Comstock Lode silver discovery, which made it one of the richest cities in the world during its 19th-century boom. Today, it's a National Historic Landmark and popular tourist destination with preserved Victorian-era buildings, boardwalks, museums, and attractions like mine tours, offering a step back in time with a population of around 1,000 residents.
Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is a large, deep freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada, known for its crystal-clear water and year-round recreation like skiing in winter and boating in summer. It's the largest alpine lake in North America, the second-deepest lake in the U.S., and is fed by 63 streams, with only the Truckee River flowing out. The area is a major tourist destination with numerous towns, beaches, and outdoor activities.
