How We MetHow We Met

It all started with a swipe...

Akoyé's POV: I remember coming across her profile and just pausing. Something about her felt different, like I knew her from somewhere. It was this strange, but comforting feeling, almost like we had already been friends in another lifetime. I found myself waiting around just to see if we'd match, and when I finally heard the notification ding, I swear I felt like I was floating. From the very first conversation, everything just flowed. It wasn't awkward or forced. I didn't feel like I had to try. I could just be myself. It didn't feel like I was getting to know someone new; it felt like I was reconnecting with someone I had always known. Taylor's POV: Dealing with the isolation of COVID-2020, we both turned to Tinder as a way to find someone to connect to during the heightened craziness. The first night we had our first long conversation, I remember thinking to myself, "I think I just found my husband...", but I quickly brushed that thought away because I didn't want to seem absolutely INSANE. After a few weeks of texting, Akoyé asked me out on a date, and since restaurants were not allowing people inside, he ordered as much food as he could to "bring the restaurant experience to me". When spending time with him in person, it felt like I had already known him in another lifetime, and the feelings seemed mutual. He asked to see me again the following day, and now, I cannot and do not ever want to imagine my life without him.
