We're Getting Married!

Our Beginning Alex and Akira first met at a Halloween party that Akira was hosting at her house. She had texted their friend Danny to invite him to the party. Danny just happened to be hanging out with Alex that night and suggested they should stop by. Danny introduced Alex to Akira and they talked and took some pictures together. Later that night they connected on Facebook and exchanged numbers. They hung out once… and then life took them in different directions. Fast forward two years, Alex couldn't help but respond to one of Akira’s Snapchat stories featuring her little brother singing the Pokémon theme song. Akira was surprised (and a little amused) that Alex was shooting his shot again after all that time, but she decided to give him another chance. They met up for a date at The Donut Man and from that moment on, everything just clicked. That sweet (get it, donuts are sweet) reunion changed their lives forever. Akira was the one to first say I love you. Well, it was closer to "I lov-" before she caught herself from saying it all the way. She had a meltdown later that night because she was worried it was going to scare Alex away. Little did she know that Alex was also ready to say I love you and a few weeks later they made their relationship official. Alex and Akira's relationship grew stronger. Alex shared his love of road trips and camping with Akira. Akira showed Alex the wonders of the various cuisines that the Los Angeles area had to offer. They moved in together, they laughed together, they made memories together. The Proposal Fast forward to just before their tenth anniversary - they've built a life together in their home in Fontana with their two beautiful fur babies, Eevee and Nala. Alex knew it was time to seal the deal (could ya take any longer?). With the help of friends and family, he planned what he considers the most romantic proposal of all time. Determined to keep it a complete surprise, he moved in secret, coordinating every detail behind the scenes. Turns out Akira was completely unaware of any of the signs… so maybe he didn’t need to stress quite so much! He tricked Akira into thinking they were heading to a nice dinner on Catalina Island. Instead, he led her down to a scenic overlook of the Catalina harbor, where their closest family members were waiting to surprise her. With the ocean glistening behind them and love all around, Alex got down on one knee and asked Akira to marry him. She said yes—and now we’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
