They initially bonded over their love of esotericism & philosophy, a passion they still share. Over the years, he has become her safe place and best friend. Her charismatic nature is perfectly balanced by Tionte’s reservedness. She can’t wait to begin this new chapter and continue making memories with the love of her life.

When Tionte met Akiera 4 years ago, he was taken in by the depth and passion of Akiera. She and Tionte spent long hours talking about life and the love of wisdom. Over the years they have shared experiences, time and unconditional love with one another. She is the perfect foil to his propensity towards brooding solitude and she makes his life all the brighter with love and laughter. Over the years they have become the best of friends and champions of one another’s dreams and dignity. Thank you for coming to witness the union of these two individuals into a family. Cierra has known Akiera for 10 years! They through their sorority and have sisters and best friends ever since! From vacations to “The 8303” Akiera and Cierra have shared many special moments together that Cierra will forever cherish! She is so excited to stand beside her as Maid of Honor on her special day!

Trey Fleming, affectionately named by his older brother Tionte, came into this world and quickly became Tionte’s built in best friend. With only a 3 year age difference, they were inseparable and undeniably close. Trey has always been a fierce supporter of his brother & his newfound sister, Akiera. He is honored to serve as the Best Man and extremely excited to become an uncle in a few short months.

Jaidarius Washington

Jaidarius “Jai” Washington met Tionte during their time at Lincoln Charter School. At first they did not chat much, but ended up bonding when they tried out for the school’s baseball team. Since that moment 15 years ago, Jai has remained Tionte’s closest friend and confidant. He looks forward to supporting Tionte as he enters this new chapter.

Celina met Akiera at work in 2022, but what started as a simple connection quickly grew into a deeply meaningful friendship. Though she’s naturally quiet, Celina has a gentle presence that speaks volumes—especially to those lucky enough to truly know her. Her humor, loyalty, and steady support have made her a constant in the Akiera's life. Celina has a special way of holding onto moments, often capturing them on video so they can be relived again and again and again and again and again. It’s her quiet way of showing just how much she cares. She feels incredibly honored to stand beside Akiera throughout her new chapter of her life and celebrate a love that means so much to her.

Deondria has been close with Akiera since they met as freshmen at Winthrop back in 2015, and their bond has been strong ever since. She’s always early, always laughing, and never sits down for long. Whether she's cooking, baking, planning something special, or figuring out her next money move, she puts love and intention into everything she does. She is “lowkey” the connection behind how Akiera and Tionte met & she couldn’t be more excited to see her friend step into this next chapter. At the wedding, you’ll find her working the room, making people feel welcome, and keeping the vibes right all night long.

Akiera, a spirited and fearless individual, entered SaRitas life with the same enthusiasm as she approaches most things. From their first handshake in digs, she never imagined the profound impact Akiera would have on her life. Over the years, they’ve nurtured a deep bond of sisterhood, witnessing each other’s growth and achievements. Now, she is thrilled to share this incredible journey with Akiera, her family, and friends. Their friendship blossomed at Winthrop University when Akiera joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. SaRita graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in marketing from Winthrop University and currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her girlfriend and two cats. In her free time, she’s a creative individual who enjoys crafting, reading, gaming, and tinkering with technology.
