We’re getting Married!

This story all started in 2012 with two strangers who wound up working in the same location. Those two strangers then grew to be the best of friends, which In that journey, those two found something called love.

Leading up to the proposal I (Jabari) planned a suprise “Birthday” trip to an undisclosed location. Akelia requested time off from work not knowing where we were going. I gave her small details/hints regarding what to pack and what to wear for our trip. The day of the trip (Akelia’s birthday) we both had half days of work. When I picked her up she was still wondering where we were going. At this point she is anxious and puzzled, “is it going to be a plane, road trip, train, boat ride etc... We then arrive at logan international airport, her eyes are wide with excitement. She threw out a few locations she thought we were on our way to (MIA, GA, CA, and a few others). Throughout the airport Akelia was not allowed to peek at our tickets, screens or remove her headphones to hear anouncements. We then board our first flight with her not knowing where we are landing. 45 minutes later we land in JFK international airport, she immediately knows where we are from traveling to/from that location many times. At this point I tell her we have a connecting flight. Everything is going perfectly until our BOS - JFK flight. The overhead bin was full so they checked our carry on bag on the plane due to lack of storage space. Upon landing we discovered our bag wasnt waiting for us when we exited the plane, it was at baggage claim. After picking up our carryon from baggage claim, we had to go back through security where our destination was revealed by a tsa agent who was sworn to secracy, unfortunately for us the tsa agent suffers from word vomit, and confirmed we need to go to “Gate 22 to Bermuda!”. Akelia did not put her headphones on quick enough to miss the announcement. Although I was not happy about the surprise being ruined, I couldnt help but to enjoy the moment with Akelia as she jumped up and down and squealed throughout the airport with a few moments of disbelief. We started our day with 55 degree rainy weather in Boston, and ended our evening in 80 degree warmth.

Following a romantic birthday dinner on the harbour front in the city of Hamilton. We then drove to this stunning location in the Tuckers town, St.Gorge parish. With the moon lighting the nights sky. We then walked out onto this beautiful balcony overlooking what felt to be the entire North Atlantic ocean. With the waves crashing against the cliff, we looked in awe while holding eachother. I (Jabari) then began to profess my love letting my heart speak entirely for me, followed by dropping down to one knee and asking my bestfriend to spend the rest of her life with me.
