How We Met

Junior Year High School

We met at Elkins High School, where we were more like frenemies than friends and rarely got along. After graduation, we both began our college journeys and started spending more time together. What began as friendship quickly grew stronger as we explored Houston, tried new restaurants, went shopping, and watched movies together. Over the years, our friendship turned into a deep bond, and eventually we became best friends and we were inseparable.Together, we built a life side by side, supporting each other through every challenge. Our family grew when we welcomed two puppies, Toast and Truffle, who filled our lives with endless love, joy, and laughter. Through every obstacle and difficult season, we stood by each other, never giving up on our love. Our journey eventually led to a beautiful proposal, bringing us one step closer to the future we had always imagined. And now, after years of friendship, growth, and unwavering support, we are finally counting down the days until our wedding.

The Proposal

March 30th, 2025

Our proposal happened on Manong Leandrei birthday at the dining table in Justine’s house. Akash kept the proposal a secret from everyone. Except one person which was Justine’s mom, Ms. Rebecca Jose. She was the only person to know about the proposal. We finished singing happy birthday for both Justine and Manong Leandrei. Right before cutting the birthday cake, Akash yelled out “STOP DON’T CUT THE CAKE”!!!!! And he got on one knee and in front of everybody took out an engagement ring out of his pocket and asked Justine in Tagalog to marry him. Everyone was in shock because no one expected it and it was a very big surprise. While letting out tears of joy, Justine said the magical word “Yes” to Akash and they held each other’s hand and shared a kiss to celebrate the special moment. That day marked the beginning of our journey to our wedding.
