Da Kine Diego's Insane Burrito
If you want to eat like a local, this is the spot! The Gringo Star or Insane Burrito are where it's at. And don't forget to order a Jarrito to wash it down. Even Grandma approves.
Cafe Surfinista
The trendiest, most wholistic, hippie-est spot in town. All of the acai bowls are incredible, but our favorite is the Surfari bowl. Hang loose, brah \m/
Longboard House
If you are looking for some surfy swag, or a souvenir to take home, swing by here after getting an acai bowl at Surfinista or some pizza from Bizzarros. Kristen worked here throughout high school while accepting payment in bikinis.
Surfin' Turtle Ice Cream Shoppe
Take a cone to the beach, or hang on their patio. This recommendation comes highly acclaimed by the ice cream connoisseur in this relationship *cough* Austin *cough*.
Long Doggers - Satellite Beach
A local fav for some quick bites. While their wings and dogs made them famous, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The mango salsa bowl is Kristen's fav, while Austin recommends the vegan tacos.
Big Island Burritos
Big Island Burrito aka BIB. Every trip back from Zambia, Kristen's dad and her make a point to grab a burrito here. Don't take it from us though, this place is highly acclaimed by all of the locals. Cash only.
The Original Bizzarro Famous New York Pizza
Post-New Years Eve or wedding-party, one og these giant slices will solve all of your hangover needs (but also, why not get two?). While you may get a soup nazi-esque vibe from the employees, its all part of the experience. Cash only.
The Wicked Pineapple
A crunchy, healthy, delicious, option to satisfy the hippie in all of us. Come for the acai bowls, stay for the good vibes.
South Tropical Trail
This road is famous for its beautiful views during sunset. Usually enjoyed by teenagers while smoking the ganja, the car ride down South Tropical at sunset is locally known as a Trop Run. Austin and Kristen ran it last Thanksgiving (like, exercise), so I guess you can say we are some of the cool kids.
Intracoastal Brewing Company
Outdoor seating. Twinkle lights. A food truck. Oh, and good beer! All we gotta say is this place rocks.
River Road Coffee and Popsicles
Coffee. Popsicles. The name speaks for itself. Extra points bc they let you pick your own mug. Great place to stroll around and support some local businesses. Come to think of it, money spent at any of the places on this list will do that. Cheers to that!
