The wedding is tropical themed, in specifications of the Rastafarian colors red, yellow, and green. Rastafarians adopted the colors red, yellow, and green as the color of the Rastafarian movement. …the very same colors of the Marcus Garvey movement back in the early 1900’s. The red stands for the blood of black martyrs that were shed around the world during their struggle for liberation, equal rights, and justice. Yellow represents the wealth of the homeland, Africa, particularly the gold. …and finally the green represents the beauty and the vegetation of the promise land, Ethiopia. We chose this theme to symbolize our beginnings together where we really became one and began our spiritual journey together, which has kept us and our relationship so strong over the years no matter what. When you choose to wear the colors and celebrate this moment in time with us you are also helping us symbolize this moment of the joining of our families with a bond that can never be broken.
There are parking spaces to the left of the church. If space runs out in the parking lot you can park on the street( please reframe from parking right in front of someone's house).
This is a formal and semi-formal event. you can wear whatever in that form. However, if you want to celebrate in theme we ask you to wear the colors red, yellow, green, and/or black.
The venue is at Tour 18 country club. Upon arrival, when pulling up to the building, you will see a separate building to the left that is surrounded by water. That is where the reception is being held. The restrooms are inside the country club building and the reception will be held in the building in the back. You can walk around the building to get there or go through the building, whichever way.
