Amber Tiffany Jones-King | Atlanta, GA | Attorney “A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.” Isadora James. It is awesome to have a built-in best friend. Never do I ever have to feel alone, because my sister will always answer my calls and come running to make sure everything goes smoothly for me. She offers the solutions to all the problems. She offers up a partner against the trials of life as she always has my back physically, verbally and mentally. She is a master at encouragement and a great supporter. It should be noted that my baby sister is also my personal stylist. She approves “the look”: all hairdos and outfits for special occasions. We laugh at each other for the simplest things. A simple look between us will tell a whole story. We walked so many similar paths that have made our bond continue to grow stronger over the years. We both value friendship immensely but we make room for each other to remain a top priority no matter who enters into our lives. You might catch us saying the same thing, at the same time, and in the same cadence. We are truly our parents’ children, a special kind of double.

Mercedes D. Vieira | Stonecrest, GA | Regional Director of Operations - Anesthesia Mercedes, My Day 1! We met at our Alma Mater, Fort Valley State University, in August of 1999. She was the very person I met on campus. As fate would have it, we have been 2 peas in a pod ever since. My mother and her grandmother, 2 people who have never met a stranger, started talking which led to us talking. We quickly learned we had so much in common: Biology Majors, Nerdy Athletes, Community Service, and eventually Delta- just to name a few. We planned several blood drives for the Macon area Red Cross, gave the Biology department underclassmen someone to be proud of, served on the SGA, and were fortunate enough to pledge Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc together. Throughout the years, Mercedes has truly been a friend that I can always count on- near or far. Our personalities are so similar it’s scary sometimes when voicing our opinions boldly in groups. We have enjoyed many years of genuine friendship and make very intentional efforts to spend quality time nurturing our friendship even when we are no longer down the street neighbors. Charla Ellis | Atlanta, GA | Mortgage Broker Charla is from Macon, GA and has been a dear friend since I was 9 years old. We met through a mutual friend, Kia McMillan, while attending summer camp at North Macon Park. We played in a recreational basketball league in elementary school and continued on at Miller Middle School and Central before I transferred to Westside & became her rival. Charla and I have always shared a love for basketball, HBCUs and a competitive spirit. As adults, we both share a love for our sorority Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., traveling to new places, sharing business adventures, and engaging in new life experiences a lot of which is trying new restaurants.. We love to live and let live. I can always count on Charla to bring BIG energy to any event. She has a glowing personality and I am honored to have her for a friend.

Chanel Johnson | Macon, GA | Full-time Student I met Chanel in 2007 at Walgreens, where she was working as a pharmacy technician. We realized that we had common interests and started to develop a friendship. She became my Visalus business partner in 2014. She also became a member of Raving Lady Readers Book Club in 2015. I admire Chanel because she knows how to get things done. I see a lot of myself in her with family/friend values, work ethic and of course style. Chanel is a caring person who always has a listening non judgemental ear. Even though she is my youngest friend, she is wise beyond her years with handling life. We enjoy our frequent lunch/dinner dates where we keep up with current events in each other's lives. We talk, laugh, and sometimes even cry during these dates. I enjoy hearing about the different activities she does with her two daughters, Kyla and Kimbella. Whatever event I have, I can depend on Chanel to support. I’m so grateful to have such a well-rounded friend.

Erika MaKayla Mack | Macon, GA | Sophomore at Spelman From the moment Erika was born I knew that we would have a very strong bond. I knew because I was determined to spend time with her. She ended up growing up to request that special time on her own and as a result we have managed to have numerous one on one dates over the years. She’s not only my goddaughter but my favorite workout buddy. From an early age she would tag along with me to workout classes even when it was “so hard”. She is always down to spend quality time together, especially if it involves going out to eat. We love establishing traditions like our annual slumber parties or going to Buffaloes to celebrate any and every occasion. All of our time together has developed into a mother/daughter/friend relationship that I cherish dearly.

Brandilyn Singleton Mann

Brandilyn Singleton Mann | Macon, GA | Mental Health Clinician The story goes that we met at daycare, our parents remind us of this. We had the chance to reconnect in 6th grade at Rosa Taylor and have been connected since. Brandi is a regular date that I can count on from meeting up at a restaurant or event to just hanging out at the house while she preps for the week. Any time together is time well spent in sisterhood and we are super intentional to stay on each other’s calendars. Brandi has gone the extra mile to include Adrick on a few of those dates as that’s the kind of supportive friend that she is. She is a dependable friend and I value our unique special bond. Brandi also thought enough of me to make me a Godmother a second time when she gave birth to her son Kingston. Brandi is the mother of two sons, Kingston and Kaleb and the owner and operator of Eleven 18 Events Designs & Signs. Brandi is overJOIed for our union and we are proud to have her stand with us.

Megan Chanel McIntosh | Macon, GA | Social Worker Megan, who affectionately calls me A. Joi and I met in the 8th grade at a Jack & Jill banquet. We began a budding relationship after I told her about a very adventurous day I’d had at school. From that moment, I knew that I would always have a listening ear whenever I needed to talk, even when neither of us had anything left to say. This happened often, as I would fall asleep on the phone in pharmacy school trying to stay up to date with her life. She might show up late, but she always shows up to support me and my passions. I will always feel loved by her whether that’s through a random text of appreciation or her frequent visits to me at Walgreens. You might catch us at Bonefish or Miramar, but never a Mexican restaurant unless it’s her birthday. She has always made me laugh even early in our friendship when she would catch grapes at the lunch table. Megan has double blessed me in friendship and with the honor of being a Godmother to her daughter Erika Mack. I count it a joy to share in their lives and they are the foundation of the word Framily!

Kia McMillan | Jonesboro, GA | Verizon Manager I met Kia in second grade through Jack and Jill. Even though we were at different elementary schools, a friendship started that has lasted over 30+ years to include all kinds of family ties! Kia is my longest standing friend in this bridal party and from day one, she has been right there encouraging what she knew would result in this union. She is not the only friend who has rooted for us but she just might be the most consistent with her affirmations and I am truly grateful to have her as an encouragement. No matter how much time goes between us over the years, we pick up like we never left off. Kia has a vibe! Anybody that is friends with her, you can count on to be good people. Kia has shared her friends and family with me over the years. Her and her Mother hold a special place in my heart and it has truly been a joy to have a friend that’s like a sister!

Deyondra Robertson | Macon, GA | IT Team Leader of Developers Deyondra is one of my long-time friends as we met on the first day of middle school at Miller Middle School and we went on to have most of our classes together even when we became the inaugural class at Westside High School. . We both went off to college in different cities but still remained friends and supported each other with milestones like Deyondra crossing AKA at GA College & me crossing DST at FVSU. Our friendship has continued to hold strong through the years. She is one of my people, and I'm so thankful for the support we give one another. Deyondra and are very similar in likes/dislikes, work ethic, church and interests. We always find time to break away from this busy life and take girls' trips and meet each other for lunch. Queuing the theme song for the show called Girlfriends...🎶 Oooooo My girlfriends... There through thick, thin... My girlfriends... There for anything Girl...irl..friends.. There have been so many fun memories with her. Currently, she is a mom of 2 girls and has been working in IT for 18 years.

Geneva West | Macon, GA | Program Manager I’ve known Geneva since 1999 when we met on my very first day of college at Fort Valley State University! Not only is she a friend, but she’s my line sister, my number 27, my GiGi as we pledged the greatest sorority together, Delta Sigma Theta! #EtaChapter #Spring01 She even became a Maconite after college which has afforded us many special memories including her and the girls eating Christmas dinner at our home each year. The past 24 years of friendship have been filled with respect, love, and support. We’ve supported each other in all of our efforts from my becoming the CEO of RXFitness Lady to her becoming the CEO of Real IMPACT’s STEM Program for Girls. Geneva is a special kind of friend that will always give you advice when needed and have your back when you don’t even know you need her there. You cannot put a price on her foresight and that makes her a most trusted confidant.

Zandis Spencer | Savannah, Georgia | Pharmacist I met Zandis on our first day of Pharmacy School at South University School of Pharmacy the summer of 2003 in Savannah, Ga. We became instant friends, and sat side by side for the next 3 years of school. Zandis would always joke that I could nap through class, and still manage to catch and type everything our proffesors presented in class. Lovingly, jokes on her of course as I had to always share my thorough notes with her. We graduated and worked nights together for a couple years and talked about everything. We have traveled together and even encouraged each other in our business ventures. We became family, and I am the Godmother to her daughter Madison who I adore. I have been there for her through tough times and she for me. Even though she lives almost 3 hours away we will never let our friendship suffer. She is a loyal friend who will always be right here.
