I guess you could say they've known each other since childhood. However, this is not a friend-to-lovers story. Fernando and Ajeenah were not BFFs growing up. Their mothers are friends and have known each since they were teens. Fernando had recently moved back from Texas and was at his mother's house the day Ajeenah's mom was visiting. That day Ajeenah borrowed her mother's car and would have to pick her up. It was happenstance that she went inside instead of waiting in the car for her mother to come out. The next part of the story may vary depending on if you ask Fernando or Ajeenah, but let's just say the rest is history :)
