Prior to meeting, both Ajea and Nana emphatically declared that they were not interested in dating. They were both focused primarily on their individual goals and aspirations. However, that all changed in 2019 at a Friendsgiving in Willingboro, New Jersey. When Ajea met Nana at a mutual friend's house, she immediately felt like he was very reserved. But as an introvert, Ajea found Nana curiously interesting. The two would go on to spend the entire evening having an enlightening and entertaining conversation. They both felt like they had known each other for years, even though they had just met. Through their conversation, Nana learned that Ajea lived in Boston, MA and would be driving back home the next day. Not wanting to miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime, Nana made the first move and asked Ajea when she would be back in town so he could take her out on a date. Ajea, nervously agreed. She had never been pursued in a genuine manner before but deep down inside, she too wanted to see Nana again (she just didn't tell him that out of fear of rejection). As the Friendsgiving wrapped up, Nana "pretended to lose his car keys" and Ajea agreed to help him find them. Once Nana found his car keys conveniently in his jacket pocket, he continued to express his interest in Ajea. In the group chat, Nana asked if anyone had Ajea's number. He did not realize that Ajea was in the group chat. Ajea in part knew that Nana was the one when he spelled her name right. Ajea enthusiastically responded and the pair began their courtship thereafter. Over the course of their relationship, they both knew that with Ajea living in Boston and Nana living in New Jersey, the long distance would not be easy. However, from the very beginning, they both agreed that in order for the relationship to work, they would have to put in the work. From the very beginning, Ajea and Nana have made "Grace Makes All Things Worthwhile" one of their mottos to live by. This motto, along with keeping God at the center, has been a blanket over their relationship. On November 23, 2023, Nana decided to propose to Ajea, the love of his life.
