The Traditional Wedding (Ìgbéyàwó Ìbílẹ̀) is the heart of our Yoruba culture. It’s where both families officially come together, elders give their blessings, and symbolic items are exchanged; like the bride price presentation. Expect vibrant outfits, drumming, dancing, and joyful moments like the groom “prostrating” to greet the bride’s family. Guests often wear coordinated aso ebi or other colorful attire. The White Wedding is the Western-style ceremony most people know, usually at a church followed by a reception.
