Grand Lake is a small, beautiful mountain town just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. The Grand Lake Lodge is a great place to stop and grab a local house made craft beer and bite to eat while enjoying the beautiful views. You could spend an hour or so walking around down town and there are lots of great places to grab, lunch, dinner or a drink. There are also lots of fun activities to do out on the lake. There is a swim beach where you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, boats or just enjoy the sun and sand.
We hope you can visit Rocky Mountain National Park while you are here! From Granby you are about 30 minutes from the west entrance to RMNP, which is located just outside of the town of Grand Lake. In the summer, you will be able to drive through the park over the Continental Divide all the way to Estes Park Colorado, which is the town on the east side of the park. To drive from one end of the park to the other is a little over an hour but there are amazing view points you can stop at and dozens of hiking trails. The views are so incredible! Driving through the park at some point is a MUST! Whether you are hiking or driving, this is probably your best opportunity to see elk, deer, and other wildlife. There is a fee to enter the park but once you have a pass you can go back as much as you like for 7 days. You should also carpool if you can!
