FAQs

Question

Do I need to arrive early?

Answer

YES! Our group will be walking to the ceremony site at 8:30 AM. Thank you for arriving between 8:15-8:30 AM.

Question

Is Muir Woods open to the public?

Answer

Muir Woods will be closed to the public until 10:00 AM. The National Park System will have the park open for our ceremony from 8:00-10:00 AM.

Question

Why is my family not included in the ceremony invite?

Answer

While we wish we could have all of our family together, the park has limited our ceremony to 30 people total. However, your family is welcome in the park after the ceremony, when it opens to the public at 10:00. Our photographer will take family photos after the ceremony with anyone at the park. Please note- your family is included in the lunch invite post the ceremony.

Question

Will I need to walk far?

Answer

You will be walking up to one mile through the park, but it is not uphill (unless you decide to explore some trails). We suggest wearing comfortable shoes. Heels are not recommended!!

Question

Where are the Bride & Groom staying?

Answer

We will be staying in Corte Madera Thursday night and Petaluma Friday night. We are having a quick honeymoon in Napa Valley after the wedding.

Question

If we stay in Petaluma, how far is the drive to Muir Woods?

Answer

I would expect anywhere from 30-60 minutes for travel due to rush hour traffic to San Fransisco. We suggest arriving to the park from 8:15-8:30 AM. The road is windy on the way to Muir Woods and it is easy to miss the turn to the park. There are other local places to stay like Mill Valley, Marin City, Sausalito, San Rafael, Novato, and Petaluma.
