FAQs

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

The Driftwood Lodge is able to accommodate between 15 and 20 people. The location has 5 different suites, each with a California king size bed and additional cots. We also will have air mattresses for anyone who would like to stay at the venue. Each suite has room for cots and mattresses. If you prefer a hotel, there are hotel suggestions under the "Travel" section of our website.

Question

How should I get there?

Answer

For family and friends traveling from out of town, you can either rent a car from the airport you fly into or we are more than happy to pick you up from the airport. Ubering and taxiing will be expensive as the venue is between 1-2.5 hours away from any airport. For family and friends driving in, there is plenty of free parking available for everyone.

Question

Can I bring my kids or a plus one?

Answer

We have opted for an adults-only wedding. Our goal is to keep our special weekend as intimate as possible therefore we are choosing to celebrate with only our closest family and friends. Those who are invited will be labeled on the wedding invitation.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We will be at the Driftwood Lodge from 2pm on 10/11 to 10am on 10/13. Anyone who is invited is more than welcome to arrive whenever you'd like. For the day of the wedding, the ceremony will start at 5pm so please arrive no later than an hour before.

Question

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

The rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception will all occur at the Driftwood Lodge.

Question

Where should I sit during the ceremony?

Answer

For every event during the weekend there will be no seating charts. Please use our special weekend to get to know each other. Please sit where you feel most comfortable.

Question

Will you be serving alcohol?

Answer

We will be serving alcohol. There will be no bartending service but we will have a self serve bar at the reception. When you RSVP please note what your drink of preference is so we can best accommodate.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is Semi formal/Cocktail. Due to the small number of people invited, we ask that you wear something within our color scheme. Our wedding colors are Rust (or Terracotta/Copper depending on the designer), dark brown, blush and beige. Patterns/florals are absolutely ok.

Question

Can I take photos?

Answer

The venue location is gorgeous so photos are encouraged during the weekend however our ceremony will be unplugged to allow everyone to enjoy the moment. We have an incredible photographer who will capture everything perfectly and we will share the photos with you all.

Question

What type of food will be served during the weekend?

Answer

For the rehearsal dinner we are going with a laid back pizza night. Those who don't prefer pizza are more than welcome to order something else. For the reception, we have opted for a pasta bar. There will be a grazing table full of meats, cheeses, and fruits to snack on as well as 2 salad options, 3 pasta options, and roasted veggies. For dessert we have a small wedding cake and a dessert table full of a selection for all tastes.

Question

Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you insist, we would really love wedding cards with special notes that we could read once our special day is over.

Question

What time will your wedding reception end?

Answer

We could party all night long as long as we are checked out by 10am the next day!

Question

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

There will be a gap for pictures. After we have taken all of the family/friend pictures there will be additional pictures with just the Bride and Groom. During this time we will have lawn games, drinks, and the grazing table for anyone needing a snack.

Question

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

Answer

Feel free to post venue pictures and pictures of yourselves and how beautiful you look. Please don't post any pictures of the Bride or Groom without asking first.

Question

Will Kim be changing her name?

Answer

Kim will absolutely be taking AJ's last name as soon as she gets home!
