How He Tells it: I can’t start to tell you how funny but also how perfect God is. I met what I dreamed of being the perfect woman at a wedding of two great friends of mine and we talked for a whole 5 minutes. A year passed by, and God allowed me to go on my first missionary team to Thomasville and members from our sister church in Atlanta was coming to town to help us with the transition. When I realized who was a part of that group, I was shocked and nervous at the same time. Lucky me, THE Juliette Metelus asked me on a date. That date is still my favorite date we've been on because it is when I realized she was the one; yes, I knew, just ask the brothers I was living with at the time. Of course, I was submitted to God but also confident in what God was allowing to happen. Months go by we're dating, a couple more and she moves to Thomasville, a couple more, and I have the absolute honor to be engaged to my Haitian Princess. How She tells it: Focused, determined, and patient, I had just made a decision to become the person I would like to date. I focused on my relationship with God, being a better steward of my finances, living a healthier lifestyle, all while enjoying my singleness. As a missionary in Atlanta, it was brought to our attention that our sister church in Thomasville would need assistance welcoming the new missionary team and we were motivated to encourage the brothers and sisters moving into that area. Having been on two missionary trips, I understood first hand how important the encouragement would be. In that spirit, I was intentional about making it special. So, a friend and I decided that we would ask a few of the brothers on a date. I chose Aj because I remembered our brief introduction a year prior and in a sense I wanted a "redo". What started as a 5 minute conversation, become months of laughs, overcoming challenges, calling each other higher in our relationship with God, and a ever-growing zeal to becoming better versions of ourselves.
