Oakland Museum of California
The Oakland Museum of California is a great place to visit. From 5–9 pm every Friday night, the Museum has special programming, food trucks, live music, and more. Some current exhibits: Queer California: Untold Stories & Take Root: Oakland Grows Food
Tupper & Reed
This is our favorite cocktail bar, right by Downtown Berkeley BART station. (AJ's favorite is a manhattan on the rocks, Gretchen's is a dirty gin martini.)
Victory Point Cafe
Victory Point is a board game cafe where you can pay $5 per person to play games for as long as you want. They also sell coffee drinks, beer, wine, pizza, sandwiches, and more. FYI - it is a very popular place, so if you are certain you want to go for gaming, you can reserve a gaming table or just call ahead to see how busy they are.
Heart & Dagger Saloon
Heart & Dagger is a fun dive bar with a pool table & jukebox inside, and a fairly large courtyard out back. It is in a great part of Oakland to walk around in - by Lake Merritt as well as lots of shops & restaurants.
It's Your Move Games
It's Your Move is an awesome independent game store. You can hang out & play games, plus they have community events like movie nights, stand-up comedy, and more.
