While lifeguarding at the Floral Park Pool in the summer of 2011, Ciara texted AJ asking if he could over her shift. That text led to AJ inviting Ciara to his Fourth of July party. Naturally Ciara was about 4 hours late but we hung out all night and continued hanging out the rest of the summer. Ciara and AJ soon realized that they had a shared passion - The Irish Exit. GC Pub, Trinity, you name it, we’ve Irish Exited it. But we didn’t just leave the bar and go home (lame) - the nights ended at the Triple Crown Diner with an order of disco fries and French Toast with extra crispy bacon. (This is type of romance not even The Notebook can provide.) After the summer ended, Ciara went back to college at Providence and AJ started college in Quinnipiac. It only took 1 semester to realize that “just friends" wouldn't work and we started dating on March 14th, 2012. Since that day we have been through it all: long distance, different time zones, different continents, new jobs, living in a van together, a doctoral degree and hiking throughout the U.S . After getting engaged on February 27th, 2020, we both knew that we wanted to plan a wedding in Montauk, a place that held so many fun memories for us and our friends after visiting for so many summers. We're so excited for this next chapter in our lives and can't wait to celebrate our marriage with you on September 17th!
