The couple met when they became coworkers at their current workplace of Sheridan Physical Therapy. Aubrey had recently moved back to Sheridan the summer of 2021 where she started a new job, not knowing this is where she would meet her husband-to-be. They became friends inside the clinic and it was simply that. The months flew by as AJ endured walks about every night. He asked Aubrey to join one evening and they both didn’t think much of it, but just that. A walk. The evening walks became a daily routine where they bonded over their love of dogs, Jesus, and Nokomis Beach.

In late April, AJ and Aubrey were in the process of cleaning AJ's home to prepare for his house warming party. AJ went over to his parents home next door to help his dad move a water pump. AJ needed Aubrey's muscules and asked for some assistance. They walked into the back yard as AJ grabbed Aubrey's hand to find that there was no water pump. AJ got down on one knee seconds before Aubrey fell to her knees in complete shock. Each parent on both sides of the family were able to witness this special interaction with cameras in hand. The couple sat with their parents and soaked in the precious moment. To create more of a surprise, AJ mentioned that the house warming party was not a house warming party- it was an engagement party! The secret was surprisingly kept between family and friends for weeks. This was such an excting time and has been an amazing time as the couple plans the day they vow to forever with each other.
