Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Many of our guests have asked about what type of dress is appropriate for the wedding! You are welcome to wear a South Asian outfit if you'd like, but western attire is fine as well. For those who are attending the Sangeet, the dress code is cocktail attire. If you'd like to wear South Asian clothes to this event, here are some suggestions of the type of outfit you would be looking for. - Women: salwar kameez, anarkali suit, lehenga - Men: pajama kurta, salwar kurta, churidar kurta For the wedding ceremony and reception, the dress code is black tie. Most men, with the exception of the groom and fathers of bride and groom, will be wearing suits or tuxes. Women may of course wear a dress, but if you'd like to wear Indian clothes, any of the above options would be fine, with the addition of a saree.

Question

Where can I buy Indian/South Asian clothes?

Answer

If you'd like to buy South Asian wear, there are many stores in Jackson Heights, Murray Hill, or Edison that will have outfits. However, some of these stores can be a little pricey, so an alternative would be to visit any of these websites that have many options for a variety of budgets. A quick Google search will probably get you more options as well. - www.utsavfashion.com - www.cbazaar.com - www.mirraw.com - www.kalkifashion.com - www.inddus.com
