Downtown Silver Spring is full of exciting things to do. You can shop or eat in the open-air mall on Ellsworth Drive, see in show at the Fillmore, or an art-house or classic movie at the AFI Silver.  If you want to go on a nice nature walk you can explore the North-West Branch of the Anacostia River or Sligo Creek Park.

For those who chose to stay in the District, the Smithsonian museums and the National Mall are a great place to explore!
