First and foremost, we want you to know that your health and safety is very important to us! As of right now we are NOT requiring masks at our event. We will do our best to have enough hand sanitizer around the venue for everyone to use, but encourage you to bring your own mask if you would like to wear one. If Hamilton County implements a mask mandate between now and the wedding, we will have some available for you if needed. If you feel that it's in your best interest to not attend such a large gathering, we totally understand and respect that decision! Just please try to let us know as soon as you can so we can plan accordingly. We love you all!!
It was not love at first sight, but we became friends very quickly after meeting. We played pick up soccer at the UTC ARC and after seeing how good he was, I knew I had to have him on all my co-ed teams. A year or so later full of soccer and hanging out we finally started dating! It wasn't until after he trapped me in the car and told me he loved me that I realllly started thinking there could be something pretty special about this guy! A couple months into things we adopted our dog Emma, so I guess you could say we knew we were in it for the long haul from pretty early on. Fast forward five years later on the dot and we'll be tying the knot!
On our yearly trip to Panama City Beach, FL, Brent managed to get basically everyone from both of our families down to the beach for the proposal (including a surprise-to-me appearance from our good friend Austin). His ploy was "Family Pictures", which wasn't unusual since everyone takes family photos while at the beach. Originally pictures were planned for Sunday, but the threat of bad weather had Brent scrambling to do them a day earlier. Well wouldn't ya know, right before we were supposed to take photos, it started to DOWNPOUR. I wanted nothing to do with pictures at that point and figured we could just do it a different day, but he INSISTED I go get ready and put makeup on...I reluctantly did what he asked and we walked down to the beach for photos. My family went first then it was just Brent and I. Because of how awkward I feel in front of a camera and with 14 of them pointed at us at once, I only stood there a couple seconds before I walked away figuring that at least one person got a good photo. His mom saved the day with "Hailey go back, Brent had his eyes closed in these pictures!" So I went back and after one or two photos he turns and pull the ring out of his pocket and gets down on one knee. I rolled my eyes (in true Hailey fashion) and then listened as my best friend asked me to marry him! Cleary I said yes, or we wouldn't be here. :) Then everyone celebrated with more photos and a champagne bath. :)
The wedding is going to be held in Chattanooga, TN at The Turnbull Building downtown. We are so excited and cannot wait to celebrate with all our family and friends in the city that brought us together!! Check back periodically for any updates :)
