Winter break 2017. Linda was 27 years old, a PA student in her clinical rotations in the Houston area. Joseph was 27 years old, a high school math teacher back in her hometown. Coincidentally, Joseph happened to be teaching at the same high school, in the same academy, as Linda’s sister. Joseph had heard all kinds of stories about Linda (good and bad) and had even creeped on her Facebook photos once or twice. The day of Joseph’s work Christmas Party Linda offered to drop her sister off at Bubba’s where the party was to be held. Her sister then decided to ask her if she wanted to come eat and have a drink with her coworkers. Little did Linda know her sister had done this purposefully as a means for her to meet Joseph. Joseph showed up, dressed to impress, and instantly introduced himself. Two Moscow mules and a few truth or dare games later, the two shared their first kiss.
For their second Valentine’s Day Joseph told Linda he was making reservations somewhere and for her to dress for the occasion. Joseph didn’t tell Linda where he was going to take her yet, but he asked her to get ready early so they could go have a few drinks prior to dinner. Once they were both ready Joseph drove Linda to the place where they first met, Bubba’s. Joseph had called in advance and requested that they reserve the booth the two first sat at. While enjoying their drink Joseph gave Linda a gift. It was a puzzle that contained photos of them. Joseph wanted to start the puzzle at the table, which Linda found peculiar but agreed to. While working on the puzzle Joseph secretly grabbed specific pieces without her noticing. He then handed her the pieces he had been separating and asked her to help him put them together. As Linda started piecing them together she noticed it was spelling something out, and it didn’t take long for her to realize what. Joseph then got down on one knee, in the place they first met, and asked Linda to marry him.
