In the Fall of 2008 two eager 17 year olds arrived at Fordham University for their freshman year of college. Mauro’s mom was lamenting that his roommate had put down carpet that would surely become filthy in the months to follow (Spoiler: she was RIGHT). Erin’s roommate suggested that they go door to door to introduce themselves to their new dorm mates in Hughe’s Hall, stumbled upon the only room in the whole building that had carpet, and insisted that they go inside and make friends with whoever lived there. And they did! Who would have thought that a carpeted room (and cheap beer) in a freshman dorm would eventually lead to marriage? Mauro and Erin were fast friends from day one. But it took 8 years and several missed opportunities before going on their first official date.

Now if anyone knows the bride, they know that she is a Disney fanatic! So for their annual vacation Erin and Mauro planned a trip to Disney World in Spring 2018. And if Erin thought that Space Mountain had taken her breath away, she had no idea what was coming next. In front of Cinderella’s castle, in the most magical place on Earth, Mauro proposed and made Erin’s wish of being a princess finally come true. And they celebrated the way any Disney loving couple would- with turkey legs and Mickey shaped ice-cream!
