How We Met

'Aisle' be waiting...

Jason and Laurel's story began in 2007 in the middle of the CD aisle at Best Buy. Brant and Laurel were there looking for something and bumped into Jason. Brant introduced Jason to Laurel and the two continued a conversation. The minute they left, Laurel turned to Brant to ask about his friend Jason and said at the top of her lungs, “He is SO cute!” She smiled and asked Brant if they could date someday. Over the years, Jason and Laurel always seemed to find their way back to one another. They flirted any chance they could and Laurel always secretly wondered if Jason felt the way she did. Finally, when they were older, Jason asked Laurel on a date. They say that timing is everything and it’s true. Their first date was filled with Japanese food, a torrential downpour, and non-stop laughter. It only took one date for both Jason and Laurel to know that they were meant to be together. On March 10, 2015, shortly after their first day (and eight years after meeting for the first time) Jason asked Laurel to be his girlfriend.

The Proposal

'Aisle' be lovin Dobbins...

On July 3rd, 2020 Jason and Laurel went to an annual college 4th of July reunion to spend the weekend with close friends. The night they arrived, Laurel tripped out of a hot tub and hurt her right foot. This is not the way they wanted to start a weekend lake trip and this was definitely not the way Jason saw the weekend going. Jason even told Laurel to be careful! Little did Laurel know, Jason was planning on proposing the next day, July 4th. If you know Laurel, you know that July 4th is one of her favorite holidays so regardless of the agonizing pain she felt, she would push through. So that night, surrounded by close family and friends, Jason knelt down with the sweetest look on his face and asked Laurel to marry him and she said "YES!" The night was filled with: fireworks, family, friendship, and lots of love. When they awoke the next morning to go home, they both knew Laurel had broken her foot. For seven months after their engagement, through surgery and physical therapy, Jason proved that he was ready “for sickness and health” again and again. The proposal is just the first step. It’s all the steps afterwards that prove your love and commitment to your partner. Jason helped Laurel get back on her feet, and they can't wait to walk down the aisle towards one another on their wedding day.

Wedding & Reception

'Aisle' be yours forever and ever...

It will be 2,503 days since the day they became boyfriend and girlfriend to the day they become husband and wife. After having to postpone their wedding because of Laurel's broken foot and COVID, Jason and Laurel cannot wait to celebrate with their closest family and friends. They hope the night is filled with love and lots of dancing!
