Amber and Billy first crossed paths in 2009 at a barbershop. Amber was working as an apprentice when Billy walked in looking for someone to line him up. Something about him felt familiar, like she already knew him, so she confidently said, “I’ll do it!” (Mind you… she was not that good yet 😅). Fast forward to November 2009. A package was delivered to Amber’s mom’s house that didn’t belong to them. Since they were heading out of town for the holiday, her mom planned to drop it off once they returned, but forgot. The next day, Amber decided to take the package herself, just four houses down. When the door opened, Billy answered, but Amber didn’t recognize him at first. His locs were now shoulder-length, and he was wearing glasses. When they first met, his locs were short and he wasn’t wearing glasses. As they talked about the package, Billy paused and asked, “Don’t I know you?” Amber laughed it off at first… until he added, “Weren’t you at a barbershop?” That’s when the lightbulb went off. They both realized they’d already met. Numbers were exchanged, and the rest, as they say, is history. What started with a barbershop visit and a misdelivered package turned into a love story neither of them could have planned. All these years later, that familiar feeling has grown into a lifetime together.
