Anthony and I met at the Summer Transportation Institute (STI), in 2011, at what many call the greatest HBCU on earth, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. We spent 5 days a week together for almost two months not knowing we would spend the rest of our lives together. When camp concluded, we went our separate ways. In 2013, Anthony made his way back into my life. I was a sophomore at The Illustrious North Carolina Central University, when I received a notification that Anthony commented under my post on Instagram. After exchanging numbers, we made endless memories. Our journey has been perfectly imperfect. We have grown so much together. We are committed to each other and if we had a chance to choose our forever partner all over again, we would STILL choose the same! When times have proven tough, we were reminded of Matthew 19:6, “…Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Our marriage will be built on God’s word, love, endurance, and commitment. Here we are, Anthony, De’Onna, and Noah, forever. We are forever grateful for our family and friends. We thank each of you for your prayers and words of encouragement. Continue to pray for us as we embark on this new chapter. We love you. -Soon to be Akins
