We have invited less than our venue’s 50% capacity so we can space your seats safely. There will be hand sanitizers on every table. We will also have the food served to you by our servers who are getting tested often and having their symptoms monitored everyday. During such times, everyone’s safety is our priority and we hope you are also being considerate for our family and friends’ health. If you have been traveling by airports, going out to crowded areas, or if you think you were in contact with someone who’s had COVID then please join our wedding VIRTUALLY. We will be posting our zoom link on the day of our wedding. If you are invited to this wedding, then know we love you and want you to feel comfortable and safe the entire time you’re enjoying with us. Please do not feel your love for us is measured by coming to our wedding. If you do not feel comfortable, simply shoot us a text and we will understand :)
It is a gathering for the groom’s side that will happen before the groom enters the venue. The procession signifies an age-old tradition of the groom who would travel an average of five to seven days to his bride to be home. We will be condensing the baraat to 30-45 mins of dancing and celebration. Feel free to join the dancing and celebration with the grooms family and friends.
Indian weddings are comparatively long as they are filled with multiple traditions and rituals. The break between the two events will give you time to re-up your energies and prepare for the party. During the break, the family of the bride and groom as well as all guests typically change from your wedding outfits to the reception outfit.
After the Baraat, the Hindu wedding ceremony begins and everyone will be seated. The ceremony will begin with the bride's family performing a prayer with the groom. The bride will make her entrance following the ceremony. Traditionally a Hindu wedding ceremony can last hours, but we've condensed it to our most meaningful traditions all which are conducted around a small fire. We will be providing a detailed program when you arrive that will help you follow along!
Hindu ceremonies are mostly informal as they are long so feel free to get up to move around or grab a snack.
Indian weddings are very festive and colorful. Women may wear colorful dresses, and men can wear colorful button-down shirts. Or traditional clothing like a lehenga for women and Kurta for men. Avoid wearing black, red or white. If you are a bit lost, here is a website we recommend www.panashindia.com to get a sense of your options. Make sure to use the size chart and keep in mind the shipping time as often they ship from India. Alternatively, a long gown or suit would be just fine for reception. Indian outfits are optional.
